"The Vortex"

If you’ve hiked this trail before, complete with three-foot ledges, 1500-foot drops, and chains to help you climb through most of the hairy places, you know just how insane someone would have to be to hang around the summit for sunset and come down in the dark… anyhow, that’s what I did!
There’s always the postcard shot from Angel’s Landing, but we’ve all seen it dozens of times and I had no reason to reproduce it. Just before sunset, I saw some awesome linear clouds passing through and scoured the summit for a foreground that would best compliment it. The rocks up there form some really awesome layers, so I caught this one while lying down on the ground.
