Intervallo Windows Edition

Illustration

Intervallo Windows Edition is a personal project I've made during April/May 2020 lockdown. If you’re following me, maybe you’re familiar with my Intervallo project: in the last couple of summers I travelled around Italy and Europe, taking pictures and drawing on them creating my own personal travel postcards. During lockdown I really missed travelling, so I've decided to take a virtual trip with my instagram followers, even if most of us was in lockdown. I've invited them all to took a picture of the view from them windows and send it to me by email. I was choosing randomly pictures and draw on them, pretending I was travelling around the World. I've received more than 1300 pictures from all over the world: most of them were from practically the whole Italian territory, but actually the project has crossed the italian borders arriving in New York, Bora Bora, Tokyo, Moscow, Tehran, El Cairo, Perth, Mumbai, Copenhagen, Tijuana, Buenos Aires, Bogota and many other places I had the chance to "virtually" visit.

Here is the text I've posted as last post of the series:

"Intervallo Windows Edition ends here. This is my very last view from the window. It has been an amazing journey: I've saw the world through your pictures and, more important, I felt myself not alone during the lockdown. The last few months was really hard to me for many reasons, but you all - without knowing it - you all took care of me with your lovely words and your enthusiasm for this silly project. You could think I made this Intervallo series to entertain you during this freaky period, but the truth is I made it to distract my mind from a bad time. Your affection helped me to move clouds away from me and let the sun come back! So this is why I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart. I really hope you enjoyed this journey as much I did. Now is time form me to unlock that door and go out to see the world live".

THANK YOU
