What's the urban problem? Sneak a peek into my proposed Urban Community Development Center in Shahibaug at Ahmedabad.

A program was generated based on a local site survey and issues were identified. This way the end user also participated. Concepts such as Identity, Vision, Strong Experience and Shared spaces matured into many functional and beautiful spaces which were a night shelter for homeless people, educational and cultural spaces for the surrounding community.

This shot is the moment you enter into the institute under a large canopy shying away from the harsh sun of west but opening up to the prevailing breeze. The exposed brick facades is familiar to the people living here and provides a certain kind of traditional wisdom. Amazing color in the right environment changes the whole mood of the individual. The facade is in a kind of harmony with other elements which brings more satisfaction.

People may have all come on different ships but here in the institute they are in same boat. Experience and expression are the core of this design.
