Game Design Final Exam (3rd Year - 2019/2020)
The player takes the role of an avatar who moves and explores the ruins of an underground city in a cave using a special flashlight. Indeed this lamp has the capacity to be able to relive scenes from the past of the place thanks to its light. It is the main tool that allows the player to explore and navigate a mysterious and labyrinthine monochromatic universe and to reconstruct the history of this formerly immense and majestic city. It will be up to the player to find the edges of the stories scattered throughout the game and interpret them in order to reconstruct the fabric of the experience.

GRAPHIC DESIGN

With the different research we have, the first sketches and outlines have been made. Models of lamps, linked to crystals, with the way of holding the object, were drawn. Some came out, were a little more worked on for the team to make their choice according to the various sketches.
Our various architectural researches first immersed us in Greek buildings, as well as ancient columns and statues.Subsequently, we looked for more Arabian buildings, like in Ouarzazate or the adobe houses, made of terracotta bricks that are uniform and smooth, to see if we could use them for our own buildings.
The first research and sketches for the structures were carried out in parallel with that for the lamp. A certain similarity was therefore produced for the sketches. Our idea was to create several neighborhoods, each with a very specific feature that would be reflected in the shape or decorations of the buildings.
When the 1st buildings were modeled, a possible problem arose. What if such a structure is too big or too small for good navigation? This problem could cause a lot of Level Design problem, so it was decided to make the buildings completely modular. Create by block one by one rather than by entire structure, it would then be possible for the Level Designer to fit each building block as he wishes, as we nest lego, to create the environment and the size of the different buildings as he wishes. wish. Then, various decorative elements were created, based on the research carried out previously so that an old side remains, including in these new elements.
