10 Home Remedies For Sore Throats
There are many home remedies for sore throats. Some of them are effective at numbing the throat pain. Others provide vitamin C from the lemon juice, and anti-viral properties from raw honey, ginger and apple cider vinegar. Here are 10 sore throat remedies with common ingredients you should have in your pantry or refrigerator.
o Ginger Tea-Grate 3 tablespoons of ginger root and put in pan. Pour 1 cup of water in the pan and bring to a boil. Steep 10 minutes. Add lemon juice and raw honey to taste. Sip throughout the day.
o Hot Lemonade-Heat lemonade to a boil, then turn off heat and pour into a cup. Sip and enjoy. Lemons are loaded with vitamin C.
o Honey Milk-Heat 1-2 cups whole raw milk, but do not boil. Heat with 1 tablespoon butter and 1 tablespoon raw honey. The milk and honey coats your throat and reduces swelling. An optional addition is chamomile. Steep 1 chamomile tea bag in with the milk.
o Apple Cider Vinegar-Stir 2 teaspoons raw apple cider vinegar in a small glass of water and drink.
o Raw Honey-Swallow 1 teaspoon of raw honey. Optional spices to mix in with the honey are a pinch of powdered cinnamon, ginger and /or cloves. Honey relieves the inflammation and fights bacteria and viruses.
o Salt Water Gargle-Mix salt water with warm to hot water and gargle every hour.
o Honey Lemon-Pour boiling water into 1 cup. Stir in juice from 1 lemon and raw honey to taste. You can also add 1 cinnamon stick, crushed red pepper and ginger to your heat tolerance. Breathe in the vapors while it is steeping, and then sip.
o Candy Cane Tea-Put a large candy cane (or peppermint candy) in a small pot. Add 1-2 cups of water. Turn on medium heat and constantly move the candy cane until it is dissolved, about 10 minutes.
