Went with a font that I felt could be both bold and have a "flowing" nature vibe. Garamond achieves this with a the rounded edges in regards to the serifs. The "W" in "Homegrown" is formed by leaves, reinforcing the "growing/plants" concept that I wanted to include. The leaves are sprouting from the "ground", so to say, formed by the underline.

The lowercase "g" in the Garamond font forms an asymmetrical negative space below the baseline, similar to the micropyle region of a buckeye seed. I decided to have a pair of buckeyes form the "g" after some manipulation. Luckily, the shape of Ohio has an encompassing nature, so I hand drew the outline to hold it all together.

There's a bit of additional consistency added with the left side of the state outline flowing along with the ascender of the "H" and right side aligning with the center leaf in "w".
