Project Description / Concept:
Our idea is to create a wall installation made of drawings on the wall and clay figures. The main idea is to make everyone feel included and have a sense of unity even though everyone is different and unique in their way. We have tried to show this by drawing a set of people of mixed gender, age, and sizes by rendering no head to either of them. The head would be represented by post-it notes of different colours and sizes. By doing so we design to keep an open interpretation for everyone who sees the installation and has a sense of inclusiveness. At the same time, we encourage the viewers to attempt and find themselves in the crowd and gain a sense of belongingness. While the viewers are looking between the figures, the viewers can find the figure with who they most likely relate to and start drawing the face or even add words, phrases or adjectives. This way, every viewer can leave a “part” of themselves on the artwork and with the impression of having participated in an exhibition.
People with disabilities who cannot see, will be able to feel the clay figures.
