(Threshold) Dahleez

Today morning you left to go back to your home after a long stay at your friend's house. A week goes by but still, a part of you is at your friend's home. You lived there, you made memories, rooms there became a part of you and now you long for that place, the place which became home after being a little uncomfortable in the starting days.

This story, "Dahleez" is about the illusion that the threshold created because it's a hobbyist that collects souls, and feelings.

This realization that the threshold is not just a wooden object but something more, something that has the power to take a part of you and keep it for as long as it wants, didn't come the easy way. Few sleepless nights, when all I wanted was to go back...

The thought process behind the Illustration

I walk and walk and walk through these wooden structures, but I don't feel completely coming out, something is left with each door I walk out of.
I drew myself walking through these wooden structures but I purposely didn't draw one side of the threshold because it's mysterious in the character then why not in the structure?
When I walk, I don't move in and out of a single door but countless. I draw these door unattached from the original destination and in the middle of nowhere.
This is a frame by frame animation created in Adobe Illustrator and then by putting layers in Photoshop to create an on-loop GIF.
