TIMELESS LAGERFELD
During Fall 2019, as a part of my Type Composition class brief, I designed a logotype,
a signature image and poster on my chosen artist—Karl Lagerfeld. This was followed by
a catalog designed on the same artist and a museum magazine which displayed a collection
a divergent artists such as sculptor & painter Marc Quinn, Painter M.F. Hussain
and Karl Lagerfeld.

LOGOTYPE
The brief was to make a logotype for Karl Lagerfeld's exhibit at the MET, New York.
The two main goals were to keep the logotype dominant but also keep in mind the artist's personality
by taking inspiration from his work, style, appearance, career etc. I decided to name the exhibit
"TIMELESS LAGERFELD."

I wanted to create something that was timeless yet chic and sophisticated
just like Lagerfeld. Hence, I chose two contrasting typefaces—Mr Eaves for Timeless &
Didot for Lagerfeld respectively. Also, the central alignment was to keep it classic and timeless.

THE POSTER
The Poster is considered a very strong form of communication and draws people towards the exhibit. For the signature image I chose the Chanel's famous "Little Black Jacket" also knows as the LBJ, and is going to be
the highlight for this exhibit. the contrast of black and white grabbed the attention of its viewers from far away.
So it took majority of the space on the poster. As people approach closer the finer details regarding the event were revealed to them.

The Catalog
The catalog give an in-depth glance into the life of Karl Lagerfeld. It talks about his career, his iconic work his achievements and his larger than life attitude. My biggest challenge was to balance type to his style and still create that timeless feeling for the readers.
THE MAGAZINE
As the exhibit was supposed to take place at The MET, New York, I designed articles on two more artists Marc Quinn & M.F. Hussain to be featured along with Karl Lagerfeld as a part of December 2019 issue.
