Chelsea Green

Hello and welcome! My name is Chelsea Green I am 26 years old. I've been an Atlanta based Artist for years. I'm currently studying painting with a minor in Art History at SCAD.

The way I approach my art is, a slightly non-traditional. I do not go into a painting or illustration with a clear plan, only clear feelings and emotions. I find that making an artist statement before the work is done is hard, since I'm not sure what emotions or thoughts I'm trying to release. Once I've finished a few works, it becomes clear. Each collection of mine is themed, it has cohesiveness, but I only discovered that after, sort of like therapy. I'll see all these works done in a time frame and think on drove me to create them, and then I realize it's my release of either how I was feeling in that time-frame, the political and environmental condition of the world, either locally or globally, or processing my own personal trauma.

My work is meant to make you feel something. Not my own feelings, but the viewers, How they interpret it, what it means to them, and the emotion it invokes. If I've done that, then I consider it a successful piece. Read Less
